We have always been fascinated, terrified, and fixated by stool. As practitioners who focus on the GI tract, it has long been understood that everything can relate back to how we are pooping.

With the deluge of information being revealed about the human microbiota we are starting to unwind mechanisms. Fecal transplant has been at the heart of that revolution. From there, we are starting to appreciate all the tools we have to modulate the microbiome old and new.

In this presentation I will deep dive into the history of fecal transplant and its use in clinical trials. In addition, we will look at the regulatory climate and what is next for medicine and the microbiome.

Andrea McBeth, ND

Andrea McBeth, ND is a Co-Founder of Thaena, Flora Medicine, and SKNcology. She has an undergraduate in Biochemistry with an emphasis in molecular biology from the University of San Diego and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM).

After becoming an ND she focused her clinical work on autoimmunity and GI complaints. She also started a fecal transplant stool bank to treat C.diff infections.

With a technical science background Andrea’s passion for the microbiome has led to innovations in stool-derived postbiotic applications. She is also the president of GastroANP and an adjunct faculty at NUNM, teaching about the microbiome in nutrition, for the school of graduate studies.
