“Mark Davis ND, FABNG is excited to serve another term on the GastroANP board for a lot of reasons, but one big reason is to continue the work he’s been doing on the research committee, helping to oversee the first prospective clinical trial that GastroANP has ever sponsored! As the ND who has spent the most time on the GastroANP board, he’s also delighted to provide some degree of institutional memory. “
Tara Shelby, ND
“Having served on the Board of Directors for the past four years, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact that GastroANP has had on advancing the field of naturopathic gastroenterology. Over this time, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with dedicated professionals, contributing to initiatives that elevate our field, and being part of an association that continuously strives to improve patient care through holistic, integrative approaches.
As I reflect on my time with the Board, I am proud of the progress we have made in areas such as educational outreach, research advocacy, and increasing visibility for the unique role of naturopathic gastroenterology. However, there is still much work to be done, and I am eager to continue contributing to GastroANP growth and success.”

She works in relational-based collaboration with her patients so that they are active participants throughout the process of their own healing and in the development of their meticulous treatment plans
Dr. Shelby’s journey into medicine began as a very sick young patient who intuitively believed that there was something beyond what she was experiencing with her physicians, medications, and surgeries. After surviving what could have been viewed as a devastating diagnosis, something awakened within her. What was considered “chronic illness” suddenly became what gave her life deep purpose and meaning. It was the healing power of illness!
