Inflammatory bowel diseases: new perspectives using ancient Ayurvedic wisdoms
Join Dr. Virender Sodhi as for a survey of the unique way that Ayurvedic medicine interprets and treats inflammatory bowel disease and auto-immune conditions. Ayurvedic medicine holds the gastrointestinal system as the primary system for maintaining health through the concept of Agni, or digestive fire and its role in managing all aspects of health and transformation in the body. Using the dosha system to create truly individualized treatment approaches, Dr. Sodhi will guide participants through Ayurvedic approaches to treating Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis as well as more mundane conditions like constipation, dysbiosis, and food intolerances. In this lecture, participants will expand their knowledge of herbal medicines for treating gastrointestinal conditions as well as learn new ways of looking at gastrointestinal disorders through the lens of Ayurvedic medicine that they will be able to utilize the next day in their practices.
