The potential role of allergy (food and inhalant allergy) in IBS symptoms
The presentation will cover the potential role of allergy (food and inhalant allergy) in IBS symptoms. We will review the overlap between atopic conditions such as allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, asthma, and gastrointestinal symptoms. We will specifically discuss the potential role of inhalant allergens as an underlying trigger for both atopic conditions and gastrointestinal symptoms. We will then cover the basic workup of both food sensitivities and inhalant allergies and treatment options.
